This is not a commercial venture. Malayalam FM 104.6 is a community-powered radio initiative proudly run by volunteers under IdeaWeb Technologies Ltd, a registered charitable company based in Auckland, New Zealand.

       Every Friday night, are on FM 104.6 and online, sharing stories, music, interviews, dramas, and cultural content that reflect who we are. In the past 18 months, we’ve produced over 400 shows across 18 program categories, helping hundreds of local talents find their voice. From radio to YouTube, our content reaches thousands—bringing people together, inspiring creativity, and celebrating our identity.

The Known and the Unknown
Arinjathum Ariyathathum is Malayalam FM’s flagship show, hosted by co-producer Sindhu Punnoose. The series features heartfelt interviews with Malayalis living in New Zealand—many sharing their stories on radio for the first time. With over 50 episodes, it showcases a rich mix of professionals, students, artists, homemakers, and community leaders. These authentic conversations blend personal journeys with cultural identity.
Bridging Kerala and Aotearoa
Konnect is a unique show introducing New Zealand’s political leaders, sports icons, and corporate figures to our listeners, while also showcasing Kerala’s culture, innovation, and social strengths to the Kiwi community. This two-way cultural bridge fosters understanding, collaboration, and mutual respect. Through engaging dialogue, it highlights both local and global perspectives—celebrating diversity and encouraging meaningful connection.
Skill Building in Language
English with Roji is hosted by Auckland-based teacher Roji Varghese and supports non-native speakers in building confidence with the English language. Each episode offers grammar tips, real-life examples, and practical advice tailored to our community. With over 25,000 early listeners, the show has been both impactful and popular—empowering individuals to communicate more clearly in both personal and professional settings.
Radio Dramas that Unite and Inspire
Yavanika is Malayalam FM’s original radio drama series, featuring amateur actors from the local Malayali community. With six full-length productions to date, it creates a space for creative storytelling, emotional performance, creative expression and cultural connection. The series celebrates local talent and artistic expression—bridging generations through the power of voice, narrative, as well as shared imagination.
Music is Life
This show blends Malayalam poetry, film songs, and theatrical music into an enriching musical experience. Each episode captures the emotional and cultural impact of Malayalam music through well-curated themes and commentary. The goal is to bring the listener closer to the lyrical and philosophical depth of our musical traditions. It’s a show that speaks to the soul. Carefully selected tracks make each episode both nostalgic and thought provoking.
Celebrating Literary Heritage
In this literary-focused program, we review the works of iconic Malayalam writers like O.V. Vijayan, Perumbadavam Sreedharan, Jose Annamkutty Jose, and M.T. Vasudevan Nair. Listeners are introduced to the richness of Malayalam literature and its philosophies. This segment helps both younger and older audiences reconnect with their roots. The discussions are detailed yet accessible, often prompting readers to revisit forgotten classics.
Celebrating Sports and Spirit
Kalikkalam is our sports segment celebrating the energy and achievements of the Malayali community in New Zealand. Featuring events like the Kerala and Auckland Premier Leagues, and local badminton clubs, it brings athletes, coaches, and youth into the spotlight. Yuvavani brings the spotlight to the young stars of our community—dancers, writers, athletes, tech professionals, and police officers. It celebrates their achievements while giving them space to share their journey, challenges, and dreams. This children’s program is dedicated to nurturing young voices aged 6 to 17.
